Mandatory Units (All Learners)

Level 2 English Language

Reading, writing, speaking, listening, and communication skills for workplace and everyday English.

Level 2 Mathematics

Mathematical concepts required for employment, including arithmetic, algebra, and statistics.

Computing Level 2

Computer literacy and basic IT skills, including software applications, internet use, and cybersecurity.

Business Studies Level 3

Understanding of business principles, including management, marketing, finance, and communication.

Specialist Unit Groups (Choose One)

  • Printing and Publishing: Graphic design, page layout, newspaper/printing layout, website hosting, website design.
  • Journalism (Print): Reporting, photojournalism, writing features, editing articles.
  • Marketing and Advertising: Developing marketing campaigns, advertising strategies, brand development, and market research.
  • Video and Audio Production: Pre-production, production, and post-production techniques for audio and video.
  • Broadcast Journalism: Scriptwriting, news reporting, and TV news presentation skills.
  • Live Broadcasting: Live TV and IPTV studio broadcasting, online live broadcasting, and live news production.
  • Marketing and Advertising Production: Market research, identifying target audiences, production of advertising content.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Information and Digital Technologies: Basics of computing and Digital Technologies.
  • Level 4 Extended Diploma in Computing: 1st year of Hons Degree.
  • Level 5 Extended Diploma in Computing: 2nd year of Hons Degree.
  • Level 3 Law: Introduction to legal systems and principles.
  • Level 4 Law: Intermediate legal topics (Contract law, Criminal law, Tort law, Equity and trust).
  • Level 5 Law: Advanced legal studies (Immigration law, Land and property law, Public law, Company law).
  • Accounting Level 4: Basics of financial and managerial accounting.
  • Accounting Level 5: Intermediate accounting concepts, including financial reporting and audit.
  • Accounting Level 7 (60 credits): Advanced accounting principles leading to IFA membership.
  • Children and Young People at Workforce Level 2: Understanding child development and safeguarding practices.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene Level 2: Food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
  • First Aid Level 3: Emergency first aid skills including CPR, wound management, and patient care.
  • Level 3 Diploma for Early Years Educators: Comprehensive training for early years educators, focusing on child development and learning through play.
